Comparison

Looking for a Fastlane alternative?

Same $29 entry price. The difference is that Fastlane shows you a trending grid, and Topped shows you the real post your draft came from - with the number it got - then proves it on your own posts from the first plan up.

Facts checked 31 July 2026

Fastlane and Topped are aimed at the same person: a founder who has to make short-form content for their app and would rather be writing code. Both generate posts, both publish to your own accounts, and both start at $29 a month.

The clearest difference shows up in what happens after you spot a post. Fastlane's trending grid shows raw views and likes on other people's posts, and then you go and make something. Topped starts from a shelf of real posts our team hand-picks, and turns them into your drafts - each card carries the source post, the number it got, and a link to the original before you approve anything.

The second difference is how far that evidence goes. Fastlane's $29 Starter home includes a basic seven-day performance snapshot, while its dedicated advanced analytics starts on the $49 Growth plan. Topped's full Scoreboard is on every plan, including the free one.

What actually differs

A view count is not a result

This is the whole argument, and it is not a slogan. Fastlane's trending tiles are something to browse; you still have to decide what to make. Topped's engine deals from a shelf of real posts our team hand-picks and builds proposals on them - showing you the number each one got, with the account it came from and a link to it. You can disagree with the recommendation, but you can see what it rests on.

Check which analytics view your plan includes

Fastlane Starter does show a useful seven-day performance snapshot on its home screen. Its dedicated advanced analytics view is reserved for Growth and above. Topped does not split that feedback loop: the full Scoreboard is included from the free plan onward.

Generated video is expensive; only one of us says the price first

On Fastlane, a 10-second talking-head clip is quoted at 250 credits - the entire monthly credit amount on the $29 plan, for one clip, against their own advice to post one to three times a day. That is not a trick, it is just what frontier video models cost. Topped keeps Creator free, puts generated video in Playground, and shows the exact price on the button before you click. You should still expect generated video to be expensive on any product in this category.

Metering you can predict

Topped tops up credits at a flat $0.02 each, whatever you buy. Content saves also have a top-up on paid plans, flat $0.20 each at any size, never locked to a workspace. Fastlane's credit packs work out between roughly $0.037 and $0.040 each depending on pack size, and their separate per-save packs run $0.15 to $0.24 each - cheaper at the top of their range, but sliding, and workspace-locked. Neither model is dishonest. One is easier to forecast.

Where Fastlane wins
  • You want the biggest ready-made asset library. Fastlane's clip, music, theme and face libraries are considerably deeper than ours, and if your content depends on stock footage that gap is real and immediate. Their terms say they do not warrant ownership or right of use for third-party assets and recommend replacing them or securing rights before commercial publication.
  • You need a lot of connected accounts. Their top plan allows far more connections than our 25, so a portfolio operator running many accounts will hit our ceiling first.
  • You want unlimited content saves, or your workspace already buys saves in bulk below $0.20 each. Their Pro plan removes the save limit entirely; ours caps at 400 a month with a flat-priced top-up above that, and their bulk-pack floor beats our flat rate at high volume.
  • You prefer a swipe-through discovery feed. Their Blitz screen is a genuinely fast way to fill a calendar if you are happy to judge posts by eye.
What Topped doesn’t do
  • We do not sell, rent or warm up accounts. You publish to accounts you already own.
  • We do not automate comments or engagement.
  • We do not attribute installs to individual posts. We can show you exactly what a post got; we cannot honestly tell you it caused a download.
  • We publish to TikTok, Instagram and YouTube Shorts. That is the list.
