Looking for a Blaze alternative?

Blaze is an entire marketing department - blogs, email, ads, Google Business Profile, eight social channels - from $79 a month. Topped does one job, short-form video for your app, from $29, and shows you the post that earned every idea.

Facts checked 2 August 2026

Blaze is one of the largest products in this category, and it is aimed at a much wider audience than you: solo operators and small local businesses who need a blog, a newsletter, a Google Business Profile, ad campaigns and a social calendar, all coming out of one brand kit. If that is the job, it is a serious answer to it.

An indie iOS founder has a different shape of problem. You do not have a storefront to list, a newsletter to send or a local reputation to manage. You have an App Store listing and three places where a short video can actually get your app installed: TikTok, Instagram and YouTube Shorts. Most of what Blaze's $79 entry plan includes is aimed somewhere you are not.

The second difference is where the ideas come from. Blaze reads your website, builds a brand kit and generates a scheduled week of content from it - so the content is about you, and its quality depends on how well you filled the brand kit in. Our team hand-picks a shelf of real posts, and the engine builds its proposals around them, with the source post and its number attached to the card.

Entry plan against entry plan

Blaze's figures were read from its published pricing, FAQ and done-for-you pages on 2 August 2026. Credit numbers are not comparable between the two products - a Blaze credit buys a finished post, a Topped credit buys a second of generated video or part of an image. Prices move; check theirs before you decide.

What actually differs

Most of what you would be buying is aimed at a business you do not run

Blaze's $79 Starter plan bundles automated ad campaigns with the content engine, and the rest of the product reaches into blogs, newsletters, landing pages, Google Business Profile and review platforms. For a plumber or a dental practice that breadth is the whole point. For an app founder it is surface area you will never open: there is no storefront to claim, no local listing to keep fresh, and the newsletter is not the reason anyone installs your app. You are paying $79 for a department when the job is one lane.

Short-form video is the thinnest part of a horizontal tool, and it is our entire product

Blaze's own published rate card prices an AI video at 15 credits - the same order as a blog post at 3 or an email at 3. That tells you where video sits in the product. An independent review from March 2026 put it plainly after testing it: "the AI-generated B-roll video had nothing to do with window cleaning." Topped stays focused on organic short-form: two free Creator formats, editable template videos in For You, and separately priced generation in Playground.

Blaze review, Ryan Doser, March 2026

Work out what an extra video costs on each product. Only one of them lets you

Blaze publishes a clear rate card - post 1, email 3, blog 3, AI video 15 - and then says extra credits can be bought as needed without saying what they cost. So you can price a video inside your plan and not beyond it, and the pricing page says nothing about whether unused credits survive the month. Topped tops up at a flat $0.02 a credit at every size, purchased credits never expire, the monthly grant resets at the start of each cycle so there is nothing to track, and every generate button shows its exact price before you press it. We will also say the unflattering half out loud: frontier video generation is expensive, and in Topped's Playground ten seconds of Seedance 2.0 is 300 credits - a whole month of Basic. Slideshow, Wall of text and the template videos proposed in For You cost no credits; you spend credits only on Playground generation you requested.

Content from your brand kit is content about you

Blaze's flow is paste your website, get a brand kit, get a scheduled week. It is a genuinely good first session, and reviewers are consistent that the output is only as good as the brand kit you filled in - the same review above warns that rushing that setup produces generic, off-brand posts. The deeper point is structural: a brand kit can only tell the model what you sound like, never what is working in the market. Topped starts from the other end. Our team hand-picks a shelf of real posts that already worked, the engine deals from it, and the proposal on your For You card carries that post and its real number. Then the Scoreboard reports the numbers your own posts get back.

The entry price has been moving in one direction

Blaze is by far the largest product in this comparison - its founder has publicly described going from zero to $10 million in revenue in about fifteen months - and its entry price has climbed steadily over roughly two years, from $34 to the $79 published today. It is a normal thing for a company moving upmarket to do, and it is worth knowing before you build a workflow on the entry plan. One small thing to check for yourself: on 2 August 2026 their FAQ still described the product as starting at $69 a month while the pricing page showed $79. Read the checkout price, not the marketing page - on any product, including ours.

Blaze founder interview

Where Blaze wins
  • You need more than short-form video. If blogs, email newsletters, landing pages, ad creative, LinkedIn, X or Facebook are part of the job, Blaze does all of it from one brand kit and we do none of it. This is not a close call - a generalist wins outright, and no amount of video quality substitutes for a channel we do not publish to.
  • You run a local or service business rather than an app. Google Business Profile, review platforms and automated ad campaigns are real work for that buyer, and Topped has nothing that touches any of it.
  • You want a human layer, not just software. Their done-for-you organic content service starts at $899/month for up to 10 social accounts, up to 40 posts, 12 blogs and 12 emails a month, with monthly check-ins. We sell software only and have no plans to sell hours.
  • You have a team. Blaze's $149 Growth plan advertises unlimited users; Topped is built around one founder's workspace and does not sell seats.
  • You want a year of plan rather than a daily loop. Growth includes a yearly planning window and the product is designed to hand you a scheduled calendar across every channel. Topped deliberately proposes a small number of posts a day, each one attached to a reason.
What Topped doesn’t do
  • We do not do blogs, email newsletters, landing pages, paid ads, Google Business Profile or review management. Short-form video for your app is the entire product.
  • We publish to TikTok, Instagram and YouTube Shorts. That is the list - no LinkedIn, X or Facebook.
  • We do not sell, rent or warm up accounts. You publish to accounts you already own.
  • We do not automate comments or engagement.
  • We do not attribute installs to individual posts. We can show you exactly what a post got; we cannot honestly tell you it caused a download.
  • We do not sell a done-for-you human service, and we do not sell team seats.
